The happiness of our customers is extremely important to us. Each and every Spoonflower order is custom printed for the individual who orders it, which means that we cannot re-stock and re-sell materials that are returned to us. If you receive a flawed or damaged order, we are always willing to replace or refund it. If you wish to return an order for some other reason, we are happy to work with you to make sure you're not stuck with any items that you cannot use and don't absolutely love.
Your order can be returned within 60 days of the delivery date in the original condition. We recommend checking your order promptly after you receive it to avoid missing the window. For any returns beyond this period, please reach out to us directly.
Note: *Spoonflower.com cannot accommodate reprint or refund requests for orders placed on Etsy, Amazon or eBay; or other external marketplaces. You must follow the procedures of the site where you purchased the goods so that your reprint or return can be processed accurately.*
Due to the custom printed nature of our products, we are unable to exchange any orders. We highly recommend ordering test swatches prior to placing any larger order to ensure the product type, color, layout, and scale of a design will meet any expectations. To begin any return or reimbursement request, please use our contact form available here. We ask that all customers contact us first regarding items you wish to return. We are unable to process a return that is sent to us without any prior communication. Returning prior to approval can also delay the time your request can be processed.
For ease of return, any issues can be resolved efficiently if you already have a Spoonflower account. If you have not done so already, we recommend creating an account before sending in your request.
Please include all relevant information and photos of the issue within the Submit a Message form. Photos can always be helpful to process your request quickly. Once we have received your message, a customer service representative will reach out to you directly to walk you through the returns procedure and if any additional information may be necessary to understand or resolve your request.
We do not offer prepaid return labels. Once we have approved your return request and provided any additional instructions with the return shipping address most suitable for your location, simply choose the shipping service that’s most affordable or convenient for you.
Funds generally take about 3 to 5 business days to be returned to your bank account after a refund has been processed. It can take up to 30 days occasionally. You may also receive an email confirmation once a refund is processed for your order.
In-house Spoondollar credits are available immediately once processed, and can be used to place a new order as soon as they are received. For more information about using any Spoondollar credits at check out, go here.
▶ I ordered too many wallpaper rolls, can I return the unused items?
As we custom print each and every order, we encourage measuring twice for any wallpaper order and plan ahead accordingly.
If you may need to see the repeat information for any design and roll length options, please refer to the Wallpaper Details section of any wallpaper design page. For more guidelines for determining the best amount for each of our wallpaper types, go here. You can also reach out to our customer support team directly for assistance with the proper amount for your space.
Any leftover amounts can be used for coordinating projects and thus continue to reduce any additional waste on our environment. We’re always happy to share new ways to use rolls and scraps of wallpaper on our blog.
▶ My order is not the color I expected. How can I get the color I want?
Every product type will present a color quite differently. This can be due to a number of variations in our custom digital printing process, as well as the composition of the material itself. Unfortunately we cannot offer custom color matching services, but we are happy to look into any color issue further to see what options may be possible. Keep in mind, all images displayed in our previews are digital renderings and will not match any monitor or device exactly. We always recommend a test swatch first for this exact reason.
▶ My order is not the fabric type I expected. Can I exchange for another option with the same design?
We’re always happy to work with our customers for the most suitable fabric option for their project. Additionally, we always recommend ordering a Test Swatch first or our handy Sample Pack, which includes a 4”x4” sample of every product type we currently offer.
Swatches are incredibly helpful to get an accurate feel of the weight and texture of any fabric prior to committing to a larger order. We also list some helpful tips and guidelines for finding the best fabric option here. If the fabric may be completely unusable to you as is, please reach out to our team directly regarding a return request.
▶ I’m missing an item in my order. Did it ship separately?
To protect your items from any damage in transit, orders that include different product types will be shipped separately. We ship all fabric, wallpaper and finished home decor items individually. This also helps to avoid any unnecessary delays as production is completed on each part of your order.

▶ Can I return a gift?
Any orders shipped to you as a gift can only be refunded or credited to the original account used for the purchase. Unfortunately, it is not possible to process a return of a gift for another user, payment option or account. For your return request, be sure to include the name, order number, and email address (if possible) of the person who gifted the order to you. We may be unable to process a return request without this information.
