Returns and Exchanges

Every Spoonflower order is print-on-demand just for you. All sales are final, and we want you to be happy with what you have ordered, so we recommend Ordering Test Swatches to help make more informed decisions regarding color, scale, and textures.

We offer a 30-day window from when your order is shipped from our factory to review your order for any print flaw or product defect. Every order is carefully reviewed for quality throughout the production process, but occasionally manufacturing related errors can happen, so we ask that you open your package and examine your order right away. If you find a print flaw or product defect, discontinue work, and please contact us through our Help Center. We will not process a return for items you send back to us without prior communication to determine if an item qualifies for a return or replacement.

If you placed your order as a guest and do not have an account on our site, please set up a free Spoonflower account before reaching out about your order. We ask that you include the following in your communication with our team:

  • Original email used when placing the order
  • Order number (can be found printed on the order or in your order confirmation email)
  • Photos clearly showing the print issues or design concerns
  • For questions of scale, include a ruler or coin in the photo for visual reference

After reviewing the information shared with our team, we can determine from there what steps we can take to make things right. Should your order need to be returned to us, there will not be a return shipping label provided.

NOTE: Spoonflower.com cannot process requests for orders placed through Etsy, Amazon or other third-party marketplaces. For the most efficient assistance, please follow the return procedures of the site where you completed your purchase.

Cancellations

The option to cancel your order will appear in your order history in your Spoonflower account if the order has not yet been printed. If you are unable to access your account, please reach out to our customer support team for assistance.

Return Policy Disclaimers

FAQ: Returns and Exchanges

I ordered too much wallpaper. Can I return the unused items?

Each order is print-on-demand and there is not a way to restock extra rolls or wallpaper. We have a general calculator on our site to help determine the amount and size needed. For the best estimate, we recommend calculating the amount of wallpaper needed from the page of the specific design you want to order. This calculation is purely an estimate based on the measurements you enter. Spoonflower is not responsible for shortages or overages of rolls ordered. You may also refer to your wallpaper installer to help determine the number and size of rolls needed for your specific project. To find the repeat information for a specific design, please scroll down to the "Details & Designs” section on the design’s ordering page. The vertical repeat will be listed under "Dimensions”. For more guidelines for determining the best amount for each of our wallpaper types, go here.

If you are unable to save any unintentional extra rolls as “attic stock”, they can also be used for other home projects. For inspiration, go here.

My order is not the color I expected. How can I get the color I want?

Color is sometimes subjective and there can be differences from how a product prints to what is shown on the screen. For context, we print your order using the color settings saved by the artist in the design file itself. Additionally, the composition of each substrate - wallpaper or fabric - may translate colors differently. This is why Test Swatches can be such an important first step. Finally, while Spoonflower does not offer custom color matching, you are welcome to contact artists directly to see if they can customize a design.

I ordered Test Swatches and then a larger order, but what I received is different. What happened?

Some of the artists on our site offer multiple variations of a design, and the differences might be subtle at first glance. The best way to ensure that you are ordering the same product/design as your swatch is to create an account before placing your first order. This way, you can reference your order history when placing a follow-up order. As an alternative, you may refer to the information printed directly on the test swatch itself for product and design details. Wallpaper Barcode.jpeg

Can I return a gift?

Because all our orders are print-on-demand, we are not able to offer returns nor is there a way to exchange a product.
